STEP LOGIC and Cisco Systems seminar on cybersecurity was held in Kazan
Kazan, October 16, 2018. On October 11Kazan hosted the STEP SECURITY DAY KAZAN field seminar organised by STEP LOGIC and Cisco Systems. The seminar was attended by the experts of both the system integrator and the vendor, as well as local entrepreneurs, officials, and representatives of Tatarstan's leading educational institutions, who gathered to discuss topical cybersecurity issues.
The high importance of this topic is driven by the ever-growing cybersecurity threat, an increase in the number of companies affected by malware attacks, as well as changes in the regulatory framework. The main aim of the seminar is to provide the professional community with the broadest picture of existing innovative solutions and tools for the protection of ICT infrastructure, to understand the needs of local enterprises, and to offer algorithms of action for the protection of the IT landscape.
The seminar was opened by STEP LOGIC's Head of Business Development Vadim Kudryavtsev. He introduced attendees to the team of the Kazan branch and gave a presentation on the company's main areas of work. "The Kazan branch of STEP LOGIC has the same competences as our Head Office. That is the same network solutions, engineering infrastructure, unified communications, computing systems, service and tech support, and, of course, information security," he pointed out.
Vadim Kudryavtsev also specified that, as of today, STEP LOGIC's track record includes over 350 certificates of both international non-profit organisations and the largest cybersecurity vendors, let alone all necessary licences issued by the FSTEC, the FSB, and the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. The integrator's top-level specialists are all members of the Association of Users of Information Security Standards (ABISS) and the British Standards Institution (BSI) and participate in the work of expert groups for the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation programme.
STEP LOGIC partners with 80 leading foreign and Russian cybersecurity vendors. "As a multi-vendor integrator, we offer the most effective and optimal cybersecurity solutions. Cisco is one of our oldest partners. We have the status of a Cisco Gold Certified Partner and obtained the Master Security Specialization, which only two Russian companies have at the moment," Vadim Kudryavtsev added.
Roman Ostapchuk, Deputy Head of Technical Development at STEP LOGIC, presented the integrator's own solution, STEP SOC. The comprehensive solution includes access to the SOC (Security Operation Center) solution through a flexible service model, as well as a complete list of current works in the field of information security at the request of the customer. This allows STEP SOC not only to effectively protect the IT system of an enterprise on the basis of a commercial SLA with a short response time, but also to provide customers with the necessary services and cybersecurity tools when they really need it.
Alexey Lukatsky, Business Development Manager at Cisco Systems, introduced the audience to the AMP (Advanced Malware Protection) and ISE (Identity Services Engine) solutions. AMP helps to prevent security threats by means global threat intelligence, advanced sandboxing, and real-time malware blocking. ISE provides the best tools for user and device monitoring to support and manage mobile device access control.
At the end of the business part, two roundtables were held, during which the experts discussed network security issues and legislation in the field of information security. One of the most discussed topics was the procedure for fulfilling the requirements of Federal Law No. 187 on the Safety of Critical Information Infrastructure of the Russian Federation. The law defines the objects and subjects of the critical information infrastructure (CII) and responsibilities for ensuring the security of the CII facilities. STEP LOGIC provides a methodology for categorisation, internal survey/reporting forms, and consulting support for the process.
The intensive seminar programme ended with a shooting competition and a quiz game.
STEP LOGIC would like to thank its guests and partners for participation.
